GDPR information notice
Information on the processing of personal data
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Polish version prevails.
In accordance with Article 13(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR), I hereby inform you that:
1. Data controller

2. Purposes of processing
Your personal data are processed for the purpose of:
- providing legal assistance, including representation in proceedings;
- entering into and performing an agreement for the provision of legal assistance;
- responding to an enquiry addressed to the firm;
- complying with legal obligations to which the Controller is subject, in particular those arising from the Act of 26 May 1982 – Law on the Bar (Prawo o adwokaturze) and from tax and accounting regulations;
- pursuing any claims or defending against them.
3. Legal basis for processing
Your personal data are processed on the basis of:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – in order to enter into and perform a contract;
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR – in order to comply with the Controller's legal obligations;
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – for the purposes of the Controller's legitimate interests (including pursuing claims and conducting correspondence);
- Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – on the basis of your consent, where applicable.
4. Recipients of data
The recipients of your personal data may only be entities authorised under the law and trusted partners cooperating with the Controller (including IT service providers, the accounting office and postal operators). Data are not transferred to third countries or international organisations, with one exception: the website is hosted on the servers of Netlify, Inc. (USA). When you visit the website, this provider processes technical data (including your IP address); the transfer of these data to the USA takes place on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
5. Data retention period
Your personal data will be stored:
- for the term of the agreement for the provision of legal assistance;
- for the period required by law, in particular the limitation period for claims arising from the agreement and the period of an advocate's record-keeping obligations;
- for the period resulting from tax and accounting regulations (as a rule, 5 years from the end of the calendar year in which the tax obligation arose).
6. Your rights
In connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights:
- the right of access to your data (Article 15 GDPR);
- the right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR);
- the right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR) – subject to the limitations arising from specific provisions of law;
- the right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR);
- the right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR);
- the right to object to processing (Article 21 GDPR);
- the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal;
- the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority – the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.
7. Legal professional privilege
Irrespective of the GDPR, all information obtained by an advocate in connection with providing legal assistance is covered by legal professional privilege (tajemnica adwokacka), as referred to in Article 6 of the Act of 26 May 1982 – Law on the Bar. This duty of confidentiality is unlimited in time and cannot be waived.
8. Voluntary provision of data
Providing personal data is voluntary; however, failure to provide them may make it impossible to respond to your enquiry or to provide legal assistance.
9. Profiling
Your personal data are not subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
